HGV 1 Drivers

We are seeking reliable and experienced Class 1 drivers for ad-hoc agency work, with the potential of weekly pre-bookings.

You will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to various locations, including Chesterfield, Ilkeston Nottingham and Alfreton. This position requires excellent driving skills, minimum of 6 months experience and a strong commitment to safety.

Pay rates from £16.50 per hour, with an increase for nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle
• Loading and unloading cargo using appropriate equipment may be required
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving
• Inspect vehicles before and after each trip, reporting any mechanical issues or damages
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times
• Communicate effectively with transport office and other team members
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding transportation and safety protocols

Qualifications:

• Valid UK driver’s licence and CPC
• Valid tachograph card
• Proven experience as a HGV driver for 6 months
• Excellent driving skills with a strong focus on safety
• Ability to operate a commercial vehicle
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
